We have all heard of “bring your kids to work day,” but have you heard of “Take Your Parents To Work Day.” This past Friday, Google hosted a day where employees were encouraged to bring their parents to work at their Manhattan offices.
Parents were allowed to take several workshops throughout the day such as “So You Think You Can Search,” “Google Hardware,” and “How Google Makes Money.” Parents toured the offices at the company and had lunch with their kids at the company’s Water Tower Cafe.
At the Google Hardware workshop, parents were able to use the company’s Chromebook laptops and Google engineer Ari Shamash showed parents a film of a blind person driving one of Google’s self-driving cars.
“I work in an office but it’s nothing like this office … this office is filled with fun,” said one of the parents Judy Fink in an interview with The Huffington Post. “Nowhere in the world is there another office like this one.
