Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has bought several patents from Apple’s supplier partner Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn). The patents are related to head-mounted technology that shows a virtual images that can be superimposed for a “real-world view.”
This patent could be related to Google’s smart-glasses project called Google Glass. Google Glass is currently only available to a small group of testers as of right now.
Last month, Google bought a 6.3% stake in Himax Technologies’ display unit. Himax is known for developing the chips used in Google Glass. The terms of Google’s patent acquisition was undisclosed.
