Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has signed a large customer for Google Apps, Whirlpool Corporation. Whirlpool has 66 facilities around the world. Whirlpool’s employees will be using Google’s cloud e-mail, Google Docs, and Google Apps. Google will be replacing IBM Lotus Notes. There are currently 5 million businesses that use Google Apps. Microsoft said that they convinced 430 customers to switch back after using Google Apps, according to BusinessInsider.
?We?re trying to shift the whole culture to be consumer-focused,? stated Whirlpool Corporation CIO Michael Heim. ?This move into a true cloud environment sets us up to work internally with teams.?
