Google Inc (GOOG) to pay $3.5 million bonus to Nikesh Arora

Posted Mar 11, 2014

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is going to pay finance head Patrick Pichette a $3 million bonus and chief business officer Nikesh Arora a $3.5 million bonus, which is an increase for the previous year. Pichette and Arora received bonuses of $2.8 million last year.

Google’s stock has surged around 60% in the past year.

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin will not be receiving a bonus in order to continue a practice of not taking one. Page and Brin pay themselves a salary of $1 per year, but a large portion of their wealth is from Google’s stock.

Google cracked the $1,000 price mark for the first time in the past year and has surpassed the Nasdaq’s 38% gain for the year.

David Drummond (chief legal officer and corporate development head) will receive a $3 million bonus. His bonus last year was $3.3 million.

Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt has received a $6 million discretionary cash bonus and was awarded $100 million in RSUs.
