Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced that it is launching a consumer-scale version of Project Tango next year. Google made the announcement at the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco.

Project Tango is an initiative to give mobile devices a human-scale understanding of space and motion. Tango devices have 3D motion and depth-sensing.

“We have early integrations with both Unity and the Unreal Engine. If you know how to use these tools, you can build a Project Tango app,? said Google.

What is Google Project Tango? It is a smartphone and tablet project from Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group, which is formerly a division of Motorola. It is an Android-based smartphone-like device which tracks the 3D motion of the device and creates a 3D model of the environment around it.
