Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has acquired Appetas, a service where restaurants can instantly build websites for themselves. It allows restaurants to integrate services like GrubHub and OpenTable as well. Google is going to shutdown Appetas following the acquisition.
?Google shares Appetas? vision for bringing incredibly simple experiences to merchants that strengthen their business. We?re very excited to use what we?ve learned with Appetas to create something even better at Google,? stated Appetas co-founders Curtis Fonger and Keller Smith in a company blog post.
Appetas is working on transitioning existing users to alternative platforms. ?We?ll be reaching out to each customer individually to ensure a smooth transition,? added Appetas.
Appetas was founded in 2012 and raised $120,000 from Right Side Capital Management and Palo Alto Venture Science. It also received funding from TechStars where the company was incubated.
