Google lawyer James Mccoun verified e-mails where Google agreed to provide compensation in regards to four patents. Google also agreed to take over the defense of those claims. Samsung did not provide any details about what claims Google was handling.

Apple sued Samsung for infringement of five patents and argued it should have to pay upwards of $2 billion. While Samsung said its products do not infringe Apple’s patents and that the patents invalid. Samsung said that if it is found to be infringing on Apple’s patents, then the damages should be much less.
