Google is having a hard time trademarking ‘Glass’

Google is having a rough time trademarking the word “Glass.” Google submitted an application last year for a trademark on the word, but it was blocked by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trademark examiners believed that a patent on the word “Glass” would be confusing for consumers. It also pointed out that the word is “merely descriptive” rather than “distinctive.” Google has trademarked the term “Google Glass.”
