Google Maps For iPhone Gets Updated With Searchable Google Contacts And Suggested Categories

The Google Maps application on iOS has been updated today from version number 1.0 to 1.1.  In version 1.1, Google Maps for the iPhone lets you search saved addresses of your contacts from within the app and browse suggested categories like coffee, hotels, movie theaters, malls, ATMs, etc.  “This update is part of our goal to make Google Maps comprehensive, accurate and useful ? wherever you may be in the world. To that end, we?re rolling out the English version of the app in seven new countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. You can also choose between kilometers and miles in the settings menu, depending on your preferences,” stated Google Maps Product Manager Salahuddin Choudhary.  You can download the Google Maps app from iTunes here.
