Google Now Provides a Hotel Finder Service

Posted Jul 28, 2011

Travelers in the US can now use Google’s new Hotel Finder to locate the right hotel for their needs. The service allows users to mark the area in which they wish to stay, and then compare hotels’ prices to their competitors. Hotel Finder users can also see photos of the hotels along with Google Places reviews and save a list of likely hotels.  As The Next Web notes, the service is still in its experimental stage.

The Finder is extremely easy to use for anyone familiar with the usual Google service format. Results are initially delivered as a map, but can also be viewed as a list. Once users create their shortlist, those hotels appear at the top of the list for that search.

One unexpected feature is that users can mark multiple areas in which they can simultaneously search for hotels. This could be incredibly convenient for many travelers, such as those who prefer to stay in neighborhoods where friends live and are visiting a city with friends in multiple neighborhoods.
