Google Opens $300 Million Data Center In Hong Kong

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) said that they have opened a new $300 million data center in Hong Kong. The data center will open in 2013. Google broke ground on the facility this past Thursday. Google is planning to open data centers in Singapore and Taiwan. This will be Google’s first data centers in Asia. They currently have six in the U.S. and 2 in Europe. Google is spending the $300 million on land, construction, and technical equipment. Google plans on spending at least $100 million each on their Hong Kong and Taiwan centers. [Huffington Post]
