Google announced that they have hit 700,000 applications on the Google Play store, which is close to the same amount that Apple has on the iTunes App Store. Google has been working on giving developers incentives to create apps for Android devices. Now the company has a major focus on having better tablet apps on Google Play.
Google recently launched the Nexus 10 tablet, which has a 10-inch display and features 2560×1600 resolution. This is higher than the iPad Retina display of 2048×1536. Google also recently launched the 32GB Nexus 7 with 3G capabilities.
Apple said last week that they have paid around $6.5 billion to app developers since the iTunes App Store was launched in 2008.
