Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has created a product that lets the Google+ social network create ads. The ads are not run through the Google+ social network though. The “+Post” ads will appear in the Google Display Network, which has around 2 million websites in the network. The ads will look like organic Google+ posts. These ads will not contain recommendations, but will contain public posts from Google+ users.
Some of launch ad partners include Toyota USA, Ritz crackers, and Cadbury UK. Eran Arkin, a product manager at Google, said that those ads are “seeing expansion rates 50% higher than the industry average for rich media ads.” The brands can use a photo, video, and Hangout and turn it into an ad with just a few clicks.
