Google has released version 1.0.5 of the Google+ Android app, which includes updates to the notifications system, +mentions and a few bug fixes. Mashable reports that the notifications are more reliable and streamlined, and since I updated mine this morning, I can confirm that the notification system is much improved. The app also now makes +mentions and huddle links clickable. The app looks the same, as all the improvements in this update are for the app’s performance and usability.
Google’s release notes for the update include that the stream doesn’t reset when rotated, “nearby” has been improved, stream posts can be shared with individuals, users can create and hide one-on-one huddles, huddles confirm “are you sure you want to leave?” when a user leaves a huddle, huddle autocomplete has been improved and reshared posts now show the right profile pic.
