Google has added a new feature to the Chrome mobile browser, which can reduce data usage by up to 50%. This could help users avoid extra data charges from carriers.

This feature can manage bandwidth and compress data and is placed in Chrome for Android and iOS.

The Chrome setting is called “bandwidth management” with a selection that says, “reduce data usage.”

The feature shows how much bandwidth was saved. Other features that have been added to Chrome includes Google Translate (Chrome for iOS), which lets iPhone and iPad users translate websites with a button. The Android version of Chrome lets users create shortcuts to websites from the home screen.
