Grapple is a mobile development company that has acquired Toura, a cloud-based content distribution platform for smartphone and tablet applications. Grapple will be integrating Toura’s proprietary platforms Mulberry and Mobile App Producer (MAP) into their own platform. Toura’s two platforms is the result of a $3.8 million investment in research and development. This deal will allow Grapple to grow by adding new revenue streams.
Toura was founded in New York in 2009 and they have contracts with ABC Television, Boston Globe, Tribune Interactive, and Reader’s Digest. Toura’s technology is used in applications for many prominent attractions like J. Paul Getty Museum and the Guggenheim.
“The provision of cutting-edge proprietary technology solutions to our global clients is crucial to Grapple’s continued market leadership. We’re excited to announce this acquisition and benefit from Toura’s relationships, skills and technology. The combination of our two companies will drive significant value for not only Grapple’s existing client roster, but Toura’s clients, too,” stated Grapple co-founder Jamie True.
