HackerRank raises $9.2 million in Series B

HackerRank, the technical recruitment and code challenging website, has announced that it has raised $9.2 million in Series B funding led by Khosla Ventures and Battery Ventures. Motorola Mobility VP Peeyush Ranjan, former Facebook senior director of engineering Greg Badros, and Facebook director of product management Dan Rubinstein also participated in this round.

HackerRank went with these investors because they have expertise in recruiting with fast-growing companies.

?As software and data science becomes a critical tool for every industry, there will be intense competition for talent in this area,? stated Khosla Ventures founder Vinod Khosla. ?HackerRank is clearly the first mover and lead player. This is why we?re leading this round.?

HackerRank has doubled its revenue every quarter for the last 3 quarters based on the strong performance. Monthly active users are growing 20-25% every month. There are currently around half a million developers that are active on the website.

Some of the companies that use HackerRank are Amazon.com, Yahoo!, Microsoft, Skype, and Square. HackerRank has a goal of converting more companies to use its platform that aren’t necessarily connected with technology.
