Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) is going to challenge IBM by launching two supercomputers that will compete against Watson. IBM’s Watson computer was so intelligent that it was able to compete with humans on the TV show “Jeopardy!” HP will be marketing the supercomputers with the name Apollo. The Apollo 6000 will be appealing for enterprise clients that need supercomputer power. The Apollo 8000 will compete with Watson in the high end of the market. The supercomputers will be cooled with water. Apollo will likely be purchased by government agencies due to high costs, just like Watson.
