HomeAway acquires ‘Glad To Have You’

Posted Mar 5, 2014

HomeAway is a service that lets you rent out your home as a vacation property similar to how Airbnb works. HomeAway has acquired rental management startup Glad To Have You. Glad To Have You has mobile apps that makes it easy for vacation rental companies, hotels, and resorts to communicate and interact with guests.

Glad provides guests with information that is relevant to checking in along with a local venue recommendation service for enhancing their experience. The app can be used for leaving feedback about rental properties.

HomeAway is going to make Glad’s GladOwners mobile app available for free to property managers and home owners that rent out their space. The GladProfessional version will require payment though. The pro app gives guests the ability to receive push notifications and the ability to request maintenance. The property managers can access guest analytics and supports integration with preexisting software systems.

?The GLAD team has created a hit product that has received rave reviews from both suppliers and travelers, and we expect it to have a meaningful impact on HomeAway?s customer experience by bringing an even higher level of hospitality and professionalism to our existing mobile product suite,? stated HomeAway CEO and founder Brian Sharples.

The terms of the deal are unknown. Glad will continue to operate as a separate service.
