Homejoy raises $38 million in funding

San Francisco based startup Homejoy has raised $38 million in a combined Series A and Series B round within a couple months. The Series A round of funding was led by Google Ventures and the Series B round of funding was led by Redpoint Ventures. First Round Capital, Max Levchin, Oliver Jung, and Mike Hirshland also participated in this round.


Homejoy provides professional home cleaning services for $20 per hour and is currently available in 30 markets in the U.S. and Canada. Homejoy was founded last year and has raised a total of $40 million.

There is extensive training for staff members so that the quality of the job is high. Homejoy now offers full-time work for over 1,000 people at around $15 per hour. Over half of Homeyjoy’s customers have not had their homes professionally cleaned before.
