Netflix Already Talking About ‘House Of Cards’ Season 3

Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos recently interviewed with Deadline Hollywood about “House of Cards” starring Kevin Spacey.  Sarandos said that a third season of “House of Cards” is already being planned.

At the Film Independent event on Saturday, Sarandos reiterated that Netflix will continue to create as many original series programs as they can.  Netflix does not disclose viewship on their exclusive programming, but executives said that it has been successful.  “House of Cards” recently became the first online-only TV platform to win several Emmys.

“Hopefully, by the time we get to season three, four, five, if we’re fortunate enough to get there, then we turn it into a Harry Potter-esque global massive phenomenon,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings during their Q2 results in July.

Netflix committed to 26 episodes (2 season) of “House of Cards” from the beginning.  However, a producer on the series indicated earlier this month that he doubts House of Cards would return because Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are devoted to making movies.
