How “Words With Friends” Helped Save A Life

A Missouri resident named Beth Legler started playing Zynga’s “Words With Friends” about two years ago. Through the game, she met Georgie and Simon Fletcher in Australia. While playing the game, Georgie mentioned to Beth that Simon was not feeling too well. Beth’s husband Larry is a doctor and he immediately diagnosed Simon with a 99% chance of blockage near his heart. If Simon did not go to the hospital that day, then odds are that he would have died.

“I’ve gotta buy that man a beer, he saved my life… I’d really like to put my arms around him and give him a big squeeze,” stated Simon. Words With Friends saved a life in this case. “I owe Larry everything… I’m really lucky to be here.”

Three months after the incident, both families have been doing well. Although the couple has never met in person, they feel like that they are lifelong friends.
