Hewlett Packard has acquired Melodeo, a competitor to Lala and Pandora for about $30-$35 million. HP basically now has a mobile music player service.
Melodeo streams music to mobile apps from the cloud and their main product is called nuTsie. “nuTsie” is an anagram of iTunes.
nuTsie can scan your iTunes playlists and access it from mobile devices in shuffle mode. Using nuTsie costs different prices from different providers. The Android app has a one-time fee of $9.95 and some Verizon phones charge $2.99 per month for the service.
