HTC One E8 is a plastic version of the M8 that is arriving in June

You know how the Apple iPhone 5c is a plastic and cheaper version of the iPhone 5? It sounds like HTC is doing the same thing with the HTC One M8 smartphone. The HTC One E8 is replacing the M8’s brushed metal case with plastic. The plastic version of M8 was previously confirmed for China, but it will be heading to other countries in the next few weeks.

The HTC One E8 is similar to the HTC M8, but it has a polycarbonate casing with a dual-SIM option. HTC announced that it is heading to “selected markets” in early June. The E8 will be available in blue, red, black and white. There will be a dual-SIM version available in some countries, which will let you make and receive calls from two numbers from the same phone.

Other specs include a 5-inch 1080p screen, BoomSound audio, Motion Launch gesture control, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The Motion Launch gesture control lets you answer incoming calls by raising the phone to your ear or launch the camera by tapping the volume rocker. The E8 has a 13-megapixel camera instead of the M8’s dual-lens Ultrapixel camera. The front-facing camera is 5 megapixels so your selfie photos will have a higher quality.

It is unknown which countries will see the E8 so far. We’ll update this article once we find out.
