The HTC ThunderBolt is the first smartphone that will operate on Verizon’s LTE network. It is coming this Thursday March 17 to retail stores. Prices vary from store-to-store. Wirefly is selling the phone for $199.99 with a two year contract or $669.99 unlocked. As the first Verizon LTE phone, the HTC ThunderBolt beat the other three planned LTE smartphones: the LG Revolution, the Droid Bionic 4G, and the Samsung 4G LTE. Verizon says that their LTE network provides 10 times the speed of 3G speeds with an average of 6 Mbit/sec downloads. If 4G connection is not available, the phone will turn to its 3G connection. The HTC ThunderBolt has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera made for video calls. The phone runs on Android 2.2, a 1 GHz processor, and 32GB microSD card pre-installed. This phone also supports simultaneous voice and data. [ComputerWorld]
