Huawei Becomes Finalist In A Contract For Bidding On U.S. Cellular’s LTE Network

Telecommunications company Huawei is a finalist in getting a contract for U.S. Cellular’s LTE network. Huawei has a huge interest in penetrating in the U.S. wireless infrastructure. The other two finalists for the contract are Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson. U.S. Cellular said that the carrier is evaluating results for the LTE trial and vendors have not been selected as of yet. U.S. Cellular is the sixth largest carrier and ended the fourth quarter with 6.07 million subscribers. [FierceWireless]
