International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) is celebrating their 100 year anniversary in June. IBM was founded in 1911 and was known back then as the Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation. This company was made following a merger of the Computer Scale Company of America and the International Time recording Company with the Tabulating Machine Company. The merged company was renamed to IBM in 1924 when Thomas J. Watson became President of the company. Today IBM is the 20th largest company in the U.S. and 33rd largest in the world. IBM currently employs about 400,000 employees across 200 countries. Below is a video of the company’s history.
