Apple Inc. (AAPL) rumored to be improving iCloud in iPhone software update

When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announces the next major version of iOS, it is rumored to have deeper integration with OS X through iCloud. Apple iCloud is Apple’s online data storage service that is used for backing up data, according to 9to5Mac.

There are rumors that Apple will add the Text Edit and Preview applications to iOS. These two apps come bundled with OS X. Text Edit lets users view/edit simple text files and Previews lets users edit images and PDFs.

Text Edit and Preview sync with iCloud, but there isn’t a way to access these files on iPhones or iPads. Apple is considering the release of new iCloud tools for developers that makes it easier for users to store app data online.

It is possible that Apple will announce the new version of iOS at its developer conference this summer. Generally, Apple releases new versions of iOS in the fall, which is around the time that new iPhones debut.
