IDC: Android Hits 75% Marketshare

According to IDC, the Google Android operating system has a massive market share of 75% as of the third quarter.  Around 136 million Android handsets were shipped during that timeframe, which is a new record for a single quarter.  Apple has a 14.9% market share according to the IDC chart.  BlackBerry and Symbian are holding on at 3rd and 4th place respectively (6.6% of total shipments).  Windows-based phones fell to 2%, which means that they are at 5th place.
