Alexis Ohanian, Garry Tan, and Harj Taggar are New York based angel investors that has raised $39 million to invest in technology companies, according to VentureBeat. The joint fund is called Initialized Capital. Ohanian is known for being behind Reddit, Hipmunk, and BreadPig.
Initialized Capital’s recent seed investments includes music startup company Patreon and educational gaming company Hullabalu. Tan and Taggar were the entrepreneurs behind companies like Posterous, PostHaven, and Auctomatic.
All three of them started companies while they were in their twenties. The three of them are also ambassadors at startup accelerator Y Combinator. Initialized Capital will not fund Y Combinator companies exclusively.
This is Initialized’s second fund. The venture capital firm previously raised $7 million.
