At CES, Intel has announced a set of hardware and software product called RealSense. One of the first products with the RealSense branding is the Intel RealSense 3D camera. The camera makes it possible to perceive distance and capture images. The camera was designed to be integrated into desktop PCs, tablets, and laptops.

It enables machines to capture and stream HD 1080p images in 3D. Intel already has deals made with several PC companies like Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, and HP. Intel has made deals with Microsoft and 3D printer company 3D Systems. Intel will be creating solutions for Microsoft Skype and Lync.

3D Systems is finding ways to use the RealSense camera to create templates for 3D printers. Users will be able to apply filters at different depths on captured 3D images or change backgrounds. Intel also has deals struck with entertainment companies like Dreamworks.
