iPhone 4 Gets A Teardown, 512MB RAM Inside

Posted Jun 23, 2010

iFixit has taken an iPhone 4 and disassembled it to find out what is inside.  There is 512MB RAM inside, a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor (same as the Samsung Wave S8500), chemically strengthened Gorilla Glass front panel, and a 1420mAh Li-Polymer battery.  The battery is easy to remove and replace, but the LCD panel is tightly glued to the glass and digitizer.  The AGD1 3-axis gyroscope is believed to be made by ST Micro.  Broadcom provides the BCM4750IUB8 single-chip GPS receiver and the BCM4329FKUBG receiver to give the iPhone 4 802.11n WiFi, FM radio, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
