Jack Dorsey is the co-founder of Twitter and he returned as the executive chairman after taking a 2.5 year break from the day-to-day operations at the company. His role has been “reduced” at the company. His Twitter co-workers complain that Dorsey is difficult to work with and he changes his mind repeatedly about product directions.
No one reports to Dorsey directly anymore according to The New York Times. Dorsey, a co-founder of Square left Twitter in 2008 after struggling to prevent the frequent and multiple outages known as “fail whale.” Twitter rarely goes offline now. In the same New York Times report, insiders have reported that Twitter is planning to go public in 2014.
?It?s really difficult to change a company?s culture, but I did this by making sure I stayed late,? stated Twitter CEO Dick Costolo in an interview with The New York Times. ?I?d go home, have dinner with my kids and then come back into the office. People knew that if they were in the office at 10 p.m., I?d be here, too, and that?s when I would go around and talk to people and answer questions.?
