Vinnie Politan of HLN interviewed Jake Villanueva, a terminally ill man that has raised $30,000 from the Reddit community to travel around the world. Villanueva was given a diagnosis on Fathers Day 2011 that he would have 6 months to live. That was one year ago so there is hope and new treatments that he is taking. Villanueva posted his story on Reddit, but he did not ask for anything from the community. He placed an “Ask Me Anything” post for users to ask him questions. When he woke up the next morning, there was $10,000 sent to him for traveling and they said he deserved it. With the money, Villanueva took his mom to New York, Philly, D.C., Baltimore, and Chicago.
