A video of James Holmes has surfaced that shows James Holmes, the movie theater shooter suspect, speaking at a science camp to peers at Miramar College. Holmes indicated that he was interested in “subjective experience,” the ability to change the past. Some photos of Holmes have surfaced where he was a camp counselor at Camp Max Straus, which is a Jewish Big Brothers and Big Sisters facility. Holmes supposedly sought counseling, but nobody predicted that something like this would happen.
While working at Camp Max Straus, Holmes was responsible for overseeing 10 children, but he did not show any signs of a violent personality according to interview excerpts with a camp leader being interviewed in the Los Angeles Times.
The video of Holmes at the Miramar College science camp is 6 years old. He also had an interest in “temporal illusions.”
?Over the course of the summer I?ve been working with a temporal illusion. It?s an illusion that allows you to change the past,? said Holmes while speaking at the podium in the video.
Holmes noted that “subjective experiences” are actions that take place inside the mind as opposed to the external world. He went to speak about his mentor in the subject and how he planned to carry on his work in researching subjective experience.
The Miramar College science staff member said that Holmes desired to become a research and make scientific discoveries. A female staff member pointed out that Holmes enjoys playing “strategy games” and hoped to one day “own a slurp machine.”
Holmes had even received a federal grant to work in his science PhD at one of the most competitive neuroscience programs.
