The Japan Book Publishers Association, the Electronic Book Publishers Association of Japan, The Japan Magazine Publishers Association, and The Digital Comic Association has sent out a press release that says Apple is infringing the copyright of their members. The pirated Chinese translations of books written by Japanese writers are being sold on the App Store.
Haruki Marakami and Keigo Higashino have seen unauthorized copies of their work being sold on the Apple App Store. The pirated copies are believed to be scanned printed Chinese translations of their books which includes the 1Q84, written by Murakami. ?Some of the works have been deleted in response to requests from authors and publishers but a majority of them continue to be illegally distributed,? said the publishers in a statement.
