HTC chief executive officer Peter Chou has announced that Jason McKenzie has been named as the head of HTC America. He has been promoted from his position as the President of Global Sales. McKenzie will work with Chou on the company’s global corporate strategy. McKenzie used to be the president of HTC’s America region so he has experience in directing the company’s U.S. strategy.
Chou said that HTC President of North America Mike Woodward will oversee the Emerging Devices business. That business will focus on new, innovative HTC products and the company’s global distribution strategy.
Some of HTC’s recent executives that have left the company include Lennard Hoornik (HTC Asia chief executive officer), Greg Fisher (HTC Senior Vice President of Global Market), Kouji Kodera (HTC Chief Product Officer), and Jason Gordan (VP of Global Communications).
?I want to thank these two outstanding leaders for their contributions to the success of the HTC One so far,? said Chou in a leaked e-mail that was obtained by The Wall Street Journal. ?But as you know and would expect, we also need to do more. With the success of the one, we have many new opportunities both to expand current sales as well as to enter new distribution channels with new business model.?
