Speaker hardware company Jawbone has acquired music playlist app Playground.fm. Jawbone recently raised $250 million in funding with a $3 billion valuation. Around the time of the funding, Jawbone was hitting about a $600 million revenue run rate. Playground.fm is a free music service on the iPhone and iPad that is considered a “human-powered” radio. The app uses data from Facebook and Spotify to create a station. According to TechCrunch, the acquisition took place last year.
