Julie Ann Horvath quits GitHub due to ‘gender-based harassment’

Julie Ann Horvath has quit GitHub on Friday due to “gender-based harassment.” Horvath has been working at GitHub’s Passion Project series for the past two years, which focused on contributions by women in the industry. One of the reasons why Horvath quit was due to negative comments that were written about her by an anonymous co-worker on an app called Secret.

The comment said “Leadership has stoody idly by while she lied about contributions, threw hardworking coworkers under the bus (again and again), and spread vicious rumors about women at work and in the community.” Below are some tweets that Horvath wrote in response to the claims:
