Justin Bieber, Ellen DeGeneres and Ryan Seacrest Invest In Stamped

Stamped is a mobile app [iTunes Link] that has released a new version today for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Stamped will also be rolling out a website that complements the app.  Stamped is primarily run by ex-Google engineers.

The Stamped app lets you keep track of the things you like with your friends.  This includes restaurants, books, films, and other apps.  You will also be able to your friends’ recommendations.  Some Stamped users include chef Mario Batali and Peter Travers, a film critic for Rolling Stone magazine.

The new app is aesthetically similar to the old app, but it is more dynamic.  In the past, recommendations were based on the most recent, but now they are categorized in a section called “The Guide.”

The recommendations are integrated with third-party apps too.  When exploring the music recommendations that your friends have, you can check it out on Rdio or Spotify.  When seeing a restaurant recommendation, you can book a table with OpenTable, look at the menu, and view photos from Instagram.  You can also rent recommended movies from Netflix or buy movie tickets to it through Fandango.

Stamped has recently raised a round of funding from Justin Bieber, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest, Google Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Metamorphic Ventures, Columbia Records and The New York Times Company.
