Webcam streaming company Justin.tv is shutting down one of its main features — the ability to record streams for viewers to watch later. On that same day, previously recorded streams will also be deleted. The reason for the shutdown?
Around 50% of the archived streams have 0 to 1 views. In fact, a “vast majority” of those videos had less than 10 views. It does not make sense for the company to pay for the video storage. Justin.tv is giving users 7 days to save their archived videos.
The feature is also being killed off for its $10 per month paying users.
