KKR & Co LLP has reported a 6.8% ownership stake in chipmaker Marvell Technology Group, according to regulatory filings. KKR may also engage in discussions with the board of directors at Marvell about a merger or reorganization. Marvell is known for selling chips to flash drive and wireless device makers. Around 47% of Marvell’s revenues came from storage customers such as Western Digital and Seagate Technology. Marvell makes chips for these customers that can read and write data on flash drives or on hard disks.
