Last.fm will no longer be free for users. The company is also scaling back in the number of available countries that the service can be accessed in according to SlashGear. Last.fm will stay up in the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
All of the other countries will no longer have access to Last.fm starting on January 15th. Last.fm started charging for premium Internet radio services like a mobile app version in all countries except the U.S., U.K., and Germany. The company said that they are cutting back due to “licensing restrictions.” Paid subscribers will be able to access music ad-free on the Last.fm website.
