Lee5279xx, a user of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iTunes App Store accidentally bought the $999.99 “I Am Rich” application. The man who accidentally click Buy App and was left on auto-login was refunded the money.
A couple of days ago, The New York Times published an article denouncing ?I Am Rich” application. The “I Am Rich” application only displayed a red gem picture on the iPod Touch or iPhone that displays a message indicating that the consumer was rich enough to afford such a useless application.
?I found that some users complain about prices for iPhone applications above 99 cents,? stated Armin Heinrich, the German software developer that created the “I Am Rich” application. ?I regard it as art. I did not expect many people to buy it and did not expect all the fuss about it.?
Heinrich was sent many insulting e-mails and voicemails. ?It?s O.K. to return the money. I did not want to harm anybody with my app.?
