Legal Q&A Website LawPivot Raises $1 Million

Posted Dec 1, 2011

LawPivot is a “Quora for legal advice” website that has been previously backed by Google Ventures. The company has raised an additional $1 million in seed funding. The investors in this round include Vaizra Investments, Venture 51, Quotidian Ventures, and several other angel investors.

LawPivot is especially useful for technology companies and startups to ask legal questions to lawyers that are experts in their field. When a startup representative asks a question, lawyers can message them back with an answer. The questions are confidential so companies don’t have to worry about privacy.

LawPivot is also launching a new service called the Legal Services Marketplace. This allows businesses to put up inquiries for legal services and participating lawyers can advise businesses for a fee.
