Lenovo announces Beacon Home Cloud at CES

At CES, Lenovo has announced a product called the Lenovo Beacon Home Cloud Center. The Lenovo Beacon Home Cloud Center is a two-drive (network-attached storage) device that can be accessed locally or through the Internet. The Lenovo Beacon Home Cloud Center has HDMI so that multimedia can be streamed through a TV.


Lenovo has also built an Android app that can turn a smartphone or tablet into a remote control. Users are able to remotely upload and access content stored on the Beacon.

The Lenovo Beacon Home Cloud Center is powered with a dual-core Intel Atom processor and 1GB of DDR3 memory. It can accommodate up to 6TB of storage through two 3TB hard drivers.

It supports connectivity through a 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter, Bluetooth 4.01, and ethernet. It also has a USB 3.0 port and can import files from hard drivers, digital cameras, and other devices.
