Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said that he is not worried about the upcoming Microsoft Surface.  “[They?re] just one of our many competitors. We are still confident that we are providing much better hardware than our competitors including Microsoft,” said Yuanqing in a Q1 earnings call as quoted by CNET.  “They are strong in software, but [we] don’t believe they can provide the best hardware in the world. Lenovo can.”  Lenovo’s net profit is up 30% year over year on strong sales.  This means that the company is only 0.7 percentage points behind PC manufacturing giant, Hewlett Packard.
