LG Electronics Inc. (KRX:066570) has announced that they have shipped 13.2 million smartphones in Q4 2013. This proves that LG is a strong player in Android smartphone sales against rival Samsung. But Samsung still has a marketshare of over 60% in terms of Android sales.
LG’s shipment numbers are up 54% year-on-year. LG shipped 12 million smartphones in the Q3 2013 quarter.
LG’s mobile division also posted a 29% increase on annual revenues at $11.85 billion. LG cited strong sales of LTE smartphones as a reason for growth.
Unfortunately, LG as a whole posted a loss of $60.21 million across all of their business units, according to The Next Web.
