LG Announces A White Nexus 4 Smartphone

Posted May 28, 2013

LG Electronics has announced that they are launching a white version of the Nexus 4 smartphone.  LG said that they will initially ship the devices in Hong Kong on May 29th.  LG will release the white Nexus 4 in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East in the next several weeks.  The specs of the Nexus 4 include a 4.7-inch screen and 2GB of RAM.  Unfortunately, it will not have an LTE connection.

Another major announcement that LG made was that they will not be making a Nexus 5 device.  LG European head Kim Wong said that LG does not need to make a Nexus 5 device because they do not need this type of marketing exposure anymore.

Wong acknowledged that LG plans to come back into the tablet market despite the Optimus Pad being phased out.  Wong said that even though the tablet market is “fairly segmented,” the company plans to continue investing in the market.  LG’s upcoming tablets will also be powered by the Android operating system.
