Whenever you hear the specs of mobile devices, you may read that they have Qualcomm Snapdragons, NVIDIA Tegras, or Samsung Exynos. LG is getting into this market with a new system-on-chip called LG Odin.
Odin is an octacore chip that uses ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture — four Cortex A15s and four Cortex A7 cores, according to TheDroidGuy.
LG is believed to be entering the Odin chip into mass production soon.
LG is working with chip maker TSMC to manufacture the Odin system-on-chip. TSMC is also well known for working on Apple’s A8 processor.
